Pa. Senate voted the wrong way

TOM MCCAREY

Berwyn

To all Pennsylvania drivers: Please contact your representatives and tell them to vote no on Senate Bill 1098. In relying on emotion rather than facts, the state Senate recently unanimously voted the wrong way on SB 1098. Where is the need for stop arm cameras when the number of children killed by passing cars in 2015 was zero?

Factual statistics do not support the use of stop arm cameras. The fact is, SB 1098 is redundant because there are surveillance cameras on school buses right now that film lawbreakers. What is the reason for stop arm cameras that would strain struggling school district budgets, except to reward the camera makers’ profit margin?

Again, tell your representative to vote no on SB 1098. Tell them to rely on facts for their vote, not emotion.
