I read with amusement about the meeting of the minds and the Monopoly game to try and figure out how to make the area better.

Best that could ever happen to Williamsport is a casino.

But no, the decision-makers don’t like the idea because, they say, it will bring in drugs and crime.

Hello! This is Williansport, we already have those issues.

A casino would bring money to the city and government, create jobs, draw people into the area and provide something to do for residents here.

Casinos have restaurants, bars, music and a fun time.

But Williamsport is into sinking money into Old Town Williamsport and pouring money into downtown, a place I believe will stay the same few blocks of resurants and offices and a shop or two. I say it’s sad the way town blows money on odd projects.

Williamsport needs something besides Little League Baseball and the Lumber Boom.

I felt so embaressed the other day.

A guy from Harrisburg drove here to see Millionaires Row. Turns out he was already through there and didn’t realize it. He told me he thought the area was rough and rundown. I say enough of pouring our money into Little League and lumber history. Let’s get with the modern times.

Our town will never amount to much if it keeps going like it is. Sad Williamsport.
