Quoting the truth
‘Truth is stranger than fiction’ — Mark Twain
I have just finished the excellent book, “Fear – Trump in the White House”‘ by Bob Woodward. For those who don’t know Bob Woodward, his previous work with Carl Bernstein brought down U.S. President Richard Nixon, so I hope he continues on in the role of Presidential eradicator.
It makes you angry that this book is a work of non-fiction rather than some drugged-out fictional work, as surely the content should be untrue. But this doesn’t seem to be the case. The current rise of “fake news” and now “fake videos” is disturbing and there is a need for more honest reporting — irrelevant of the damage it may cause.
Let the truth be told by our journalists in all of its undignified reality.
Meanwhile, where does the letter of the law overrule the President’s whims? In the United States now, after the CNN legal action and hopefully all around the world eventually. A good lesson for all leaders.
And the Bible states that Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.”
Nobody has ever said, “Bring the little children to me and tear gas them” until the U.S. had President Trump.
