Socialism fails again

JOHN C. BUTLER

South Williamsport

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is unaffordable. Who would have thought such a “good” idea would fail so miserably. Many people have lofty ideas, but when they are inserted into the equation of the human family they don’t work.

Worse than fail, they hurt people and are very expensive. I’m sure someone makes money, but it is not the ordinary man.

The same is true for Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac loan bailouts. The government making banks loan to people who had little income and now collateral. Better yet bundling those loans and selling them because they are backed by liberal policies from liberal socialist politicians. Someone made money on the short sell and the rest were forced to pay the bailout while the Wall Street managers still got their bonuses. This is socialism. It is a failure.

Now let’s move on from that to open the borders to all comers in the name of “fairness” – whatever that means. But who pays the bill for all these people?

These ideas don’t work. Why should we do them again and again?
