Twilight zone

MARLIN D. LILLEY JR.

Cogan Station

I am somewhat amazed when reading letters to the editor by those people who support the left’s obsession with global warming.

They insist that it’s not only a fact, but settled science and that it’s caused by mankind.

While watching a documentary on the Science Channel about prehistoric Earth, scientist discovered, via ice core samples, that 120 million years ago the Earth was several degrees warmer than it is today.

However, it’s hard to blame mankind since man and dinosaurs were not contemporaneous. How does the liberal “climate gurus” explain away this conundrum? This begs the age old question: What came first, prehistoric warming or the ice age?

Perhaps they believe the dinosaurs were building large numbers of coal-fired power plants or driving around in huge gas guzzling SUVs. Trying to sort this out in my mind, I thought back to a couple of weeks ago when my out-door thermometer read sub-zero temperatures.

If we get any more “global warming” we are all going to freeze to death.
