Religious vs. secular society

TED MAHAFFEY

Montoursville

Secularists are against religious expression in society, but fail to understand their values are a quasi-religious belief system. Many of their values are derived from adopting values that are opposite those of Christianity.

Secularism is a foundation of communism. Oppression from communism is extensive. On the other hand, theocracies also result in oppression. The problem with both is the pursuit of power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, as stated by Lord Acton, British politician.

Secularists scream for tolerance, but tolerance is only for adherents to secular values. All others are branded as haters, phobes or some type of “ist.”

Always citing religious hypocrisy is specious because Secularists also exhibit hypocrisy.

Christians should voice their opposition to issues against their values, but also be civil and respectful to people with other belief systems.

Christians demonstrate the sincerity of their beliefs by their actions, not merely by saying what they believe. “Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing.” (Matthew 7:15).
