Meaningless Meanderings

Ushering in the New YearFinally, 2007 is ending. A "lucky year" for some (and unlucky for many of us) is coming to a close, and a new year, 2008, is coming to bear. To some, the new year is nothing but a new number to write on a calendar, another year of monotony, or a time for new goals. Although, there are others who see the new year as an adventure, filled with unexpected surprises and new experiences. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle.Personally, I see 2008 as a year of new opportunities, for myself and for those around me. 2008 seems to be the signal for new policies and politicians in many countries. This will also be the year that I graduate on move on, preparing to face the "Real World". Perhaps I will find myself in yet another country, or I may remain near "home" for the time being. Maybe I will study another language, or meet with some friends from the distant past. Now that the year is beginning, I can see these possibilities before me: the things that can go "right," and the things that can go horribly "wrong." I'm seeing the things that I haven't done, and what I thought was a collection of impossibilities. Don't you see the same? Regardless, I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year! I look forward to good times and further good relations in the next year!

Now that you are ready, sit back and enjoy.
