The Ultimate QuestionLike everybody else at Lock Haven University, I am home for Spring Break. Spring break means catching up on sleep, hanging out with family and friends, and attempting to do some sort of homework that is due within the first week back from break. Since last Tuesday, I have been home in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It seems that eveywhere I go, when people find out I am graduating next December, they all ask the same question "What do you want to do when you graduate?" I am not the only one facing this question on an almost daily basis. During a recent Dunkin Donuts coffee talk with three friends whom I have known since the early years, we talked about this question and how it can be annoying. The truth of the matter is that we don't know what it is we want to do. When we find it, we will let everybody know. What we did decide upon is that no matter what, as long as we are happy, then we are ok with it. We don't need multi million dollar homes, with swimming pools and three cars. All we want is to be happy and have a comfortable life where we can do things if the opportunity presents itself but if it doesn't then we don't care. As I dropped them all off later that night I thought to myself about what it means to be happy. To me, happiness is the life I am living right now. I have the best family and friends that a girl can ask for and I have had the opportunity of doing things that some would never have the chance to. When it comes time to find a real job then I will be open to moving anywhere and trying anything at least once; all the while maintaining the contact that I have here with my friends and family at home. I know that even though people ask me all the time, they will be ok with what I end up doing just as long as I am happy and that is all I can ask of them to do:be happy for me. So as some of my friends prepare for the final push to graduation, I will do my best to avoid asking them the question of what it is they want to do with the remainder of their lives. Instead, I will be side by side of them living the last few weeks they have left of their collegiate career, making sure we have memories that will last us a lifetime.
