BEA starts off 2-0

SPRING MILLS — At the beginning of the season, Bald Eagle Area head coach Jack Tobias said that he had never been part of a losing program and he didn’t plan on starting when he assumed the reigns of the Bald Eagle football program. Well, Tobias and the Eagles are off to a good start at 2-0 after a 14-11 victory of Penns Valley, Friday in Spring Mills. “To be 2-0 right now is just awesome,” Tobias said. “Our guys have really been working hard but we still have a long way to go.” The win marked the Eagle’s first victory on the road in their last 15 tries as Bald Eagle claimed the Iron Bell Trophy. Similar to their victory over Philipsburg-Osceola last week, the Eagles benefited from the miscues of their opponent and relied on their ground attack to carry them to victory. After driving deep into Penns Valley territory on their first possession before a turnover on downs, Bald Eagle got the ball back and would not waste the opportunity.
