LOCK HAVEN — For any program, the first game of the season is a measuring stick to determine what kind of team you have. Lock Haven head football coach John Klacik was able to find some positives in his team, despite the 30-0 Glenville State victory that lit up the rain-soaked scoreboard Thursday in Lock Haven. One of those was quarterback Jarryd Burkett. Burkett, a freshman from Altoona, came in to relieve starter Ilio DiPaolo in the second half and added stability to the offense. “I think Burkett’s play at quarterback was certainly a positive for us,” Klacik said. “We moved DiPaolo out to wide out in the second half, and I also think that may be what is best for our team right now because I think he could be a weapon for us.” Another positive for the Bald Eagles was the way that its defense settled in during the second half of the game.
