Truck fire

LOGANTON — Charles Bock, 28, of Morrisdale crashed his 1999 Freightliner on Interstate 80 in Greene Township Wednesday morning, state police at Lamar said.

Police said officers investigated a truck fire at that location.

Troopers said Bock was driving east when he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment of his rig.

He pulled to the eastbound shoulder and the truck became fully engulfed in flames, police said.

Bock was able to escape without injury, and Sugar Valley Fire Company’s volunteers arrived on scene and contained the fire.

The truck was extensively damaged and was towed from the scene, police said.

The eastbound lane of I-80 was closed for a short period of time.
