Jeremy Lazorka, center, addresses the Longstreth All-Star softball team before they take the field against the U.S.A. Olympic softball team in May at Williamsport’s Bowman Field. Lazorka, who served as the head coach of the all-star squad, will take over as the head coach for the Jersey Shore girls’ softball team.

JERSEY SHORE — When a son has questions about sports, he often turns to his father for answers. In Jeremy Lazorka’s case, he might get a little ribbing from the rest of his family if he does that. Lazorka was approved by the Jersey Shore School Board Tuesday as the new varsity head coach of the Jersey Shore girls’ softball team. He is taking the place of his father, Dan, who took a job with Lycoming College’s softball program. “I have some big shoes to fill coming in after my dad,” Lazorka said. “I am kind of carrying the legacy. I think that it is obviously going to be tough filling those shoes, but I’m going to do my best. I think I have a good enough background with watching my sisters play growing up. Plus, the knowledge from my dad and other experiences I’ve had will help me.” Lazorka might have trouble listing all his credentials on one sheet of paper.
