Take a winter’s drive to a live nativity
Romola Bible Church offers its live, outdoor nativity scene, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the church parking lot on Marsh Creek Road in Howard. Children are invited to pet animals including a donkey, calf and goats. Members of the congregation will portray Mary, Joseph and the shepherds gazing into the manger of the Christ child. Friends and neighbors are invited to come and reflect on the first Christmas. Families may observe the live nativity or stop in for coffee, hot chocolate and cookies to be served in the church annex. Family services and candlelight worship will take place in many churches Wednesday, to herald the anniversary of Christ’s birth, celebrated the following day. Main St. — 7 p.m. n Dunnstown United Methodist Church — Silent meditation and prayer beginning at 7 p.m.; service at 7:30. n East Main Street United Methodist Church — Candlelight service with music and Communion, 7 p.m. n First Baptist Church, 210 N. Vesper St. — “The Greatest Gift” cantata at 7 p.m. n First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St. — Candlelight service at 7 p.m. with presentation by the youth. n Flemington First Church of Christ, corner of High and Sturdevant streets — Candlelight service at 6 p.m. n Flemington United Meth-odist Church— Candlelight service with choir music at 7 p.m.
