Born on July 16, 1937 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late James Young and Norma Williams Young.
On April 16, 1953, she married Harold I. Meyer Sr., who preceded her in death in 1993.
Cora attended Bellefonte Area School District schools.
She worked as a waitress for Bonfattos in Bellefonte for over 29 years.
Cora was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1600 Women’s Auxiliary of Bellefonte, Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206, Undine Fire Company, Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #1094, Bellefonte Eagles Aerie #4320 and Beech Creek American Legion.
Cora is survived by a daughter, Joan L. Catherman of Bellefonte; two sons, Harold I. Meyer Jr. of Pleasant Gap and James F. Meyer of Howard; two sisters; a brother; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a twin sister, Joan D. Young.
There will be a public visitation held Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with pastor Chris Pfleegor officiating.
Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery in Benner Township.
