Thomas Allen Shade

Thomas Allen Shade, 53, of 39 Mallard St., Mackeyville, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Lock Haven Hospital.

He was born June 16, 1954 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Morgan and Sarah Shade.

On Sept. 26, 1981, he married Valerie Jo Baker, who survives.

He served in the United States Army Reserves.

He was employed by Lucas Trucking, Jersey Shore.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and boating, as well as football, baseball and NASCAR. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Tom was an inspiration to everyone and had the best outlook on life. He was a true blessing to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Thomas (Tina) Shade, Robby (Jennifer) Baker and Jason Shade; four daughters, Nikki Baker (Mark Caruso), Brandi (Jake) Bowman, Kelly Shade (Tommy Long) and Missy Russell; grandchildren, Richie, Bryan and Colby Eldred, Hunter and Dylan Baker, Mason Rickert, Mercedes and Dominic Caruso, Trinity McKeague, Julianna Bowman and Devin and Austin Shade; brothers and sisters, Lulubell Kline, Morgan Shade, Eliza Dauberman, Steven Shade, Dan Shade, Rick Shade and Betty Shade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and John Shade.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Private burial services will be at the convenience of the family.
