Born on April 16, 1937 in Orviston, he was a son of the late Charles Lucas and Emma Lomison Lucas.
On April 17, 1957, he married his first wife, Winifred Shope, who survives in Bellefonte.
On July 11, 1998, he married his second wife, Lois Brown Mann Lucas, who survives at home.
Allan attended the Lock Haven School System.
He worked at Cerro Copper & Brass as a forge press operator and later on the boiler until his retirement in 1998.
Allan was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He attended New Hope United Methodist Church.
Allan was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1600, the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #1094, Bellefonte American Legion Post #33 and Undine Fire Company in Bellefonte.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry L. Showers and her husband Craig of Bellefonte and Dianna L. Meckley and her husband William of Centre Hall; two sons, Thomas A. Lucas of State College and Scott Lucas of Bellefonte; three stepsons, Edward Mann and his wife Nanette of Lewistown, Douglas S. Mann and his wife Rhonda of Moshannon and Michael L. Mann and his wife Suzanne of Pleasant Gap; two sisters, Marjorie Gardner of Bellefonte and Janice Stewart of Centre Hall; two brothers, John Lucas of Bellefonte and Dennis Lucas of Centre Hall; 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a soon-to-be great great grandchild. Allan was proud of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. However, he was extremely proud of his grandson, Lance Corporal Chris Showers, who is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp LeJuene, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lucas, and a sister, Norma J. Rhoades.
Friends will be received Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the time of the service, at the Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with pastor Nancy Lee Goff officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund at 422 South Monroe St., Bellefonte, PA 16823.
