Helen L. Earon

Helen L. Earon, 81, of 2277 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek Township, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Lock Haven Hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1927 in Beech Creek Township, the daughter of the late William and Mary Walker Peter. On Oct. 23, 1943 in the Blanchard First Church of Christ, she married McDowell "Mickey" Earon, who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2004. Along with her husband and children, she ran the family farm in Beech Creek Township throughout her life. She was a member of the Blanchard First Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Knarr (Jerry), and two sons, Darl (Patricia) and Merle, all of Beech Creek Township; two sisters, Pauline Bowes of Blanchard and Betty Gufstason of Beech Creek; four grandchildren, Karen March, Darl Jr., Tina Hinton and Mickey Knarr; and four great-grandchildren, Laura Earon, Zachary March and Nittany and Lions Hinton. She also was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flemington First Church of Christ or the American Diabetes Foundation.
