James F. Sechrist
James Floyd Sechrist, 92, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Manor Care.
He was born Nov. 11, 1915 in Jersey Shore, the son of the late George and Jennie Hoover Sechrist.
James is a World War II veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was the husband of the former Mabel Bailey, who passed away in 2006. They were married for 69 years.
He is survived by five children, James E. (Bonnie) of Milford, Olive L. (Sam) Zinck of Jersey Shore, Janette S. (Ed) Wehler of Mifflintown, and Stephen F. (Ann) and Bruce A. (Sharon), both of Jersey Shore; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Frank, both of Jersey Shore; and four sisters, Ethel of Jersey Shore, and Dorothy, Nancy and Betty, all of Florida.
He was predeceased by five siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to James’ Life Celebration Service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., a “Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Ted Van Schoick officiating. A visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
