Truck fire
LOGANTON — Charles Bock, 28, of Morrisdale crashed his 1999 Freightliner on Interstate 80 in Greene Township Wednesday morning, state police at Lamar said.
Police said officers investigated a truck fire at that location.
Troopers said Bock was driving east when he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment of his rig.
He pulled to the eastbound shoulder and the truck became fully engulfed in flames, police said.
Bock was able to escape without injury, and Sugar Valley Fire Company’s volunteers arrived on scene and contained the fire.
The truck was extensively damaged and was towed from the scene, police said.
The eastbound lane of I-80 was closed for a short period of time.
Drunk driving
BEECH CREEK — Colby R. Bechdel, 23, of Beech Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated following a May 10 crash on the Howard bridge in Howard Township, state police at Rockview said.
Police said Bechdel was driving north when his sedan left the road and crashed into two parked cars.
After impact, police said, his auto came to a rest partially on the northbound lane and shoulder.
Crash
AVIS —Brandon Messersmith, 23, of Lock Haven swerved to miss a deer on the road Tuesday at 11:25 p.m. and crashed his Chevrolet S-10 pickup off the road, state police at Lamar said.
Police said Messersmith faces charges for driving while intoxicated and summary traffic violations. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
MILL HALL —Somebody forced open a door Wednesday morning at the home of Tim Luben, 27, of 82 Lizardville Road, Mill Hall, state police at Lamar said.
Police said the individual, whose identity is known to officers, left with a DVD-VCR combination, a frying pan and colander, all of which he claimed were his property.
The investigation is continuing.
Theft from vehicle
LOCK HAVEN —Russell Newcomer, 53, of Lock Haven, told police somebody stole a leather checkbook and checks from his parked vehicle late Tuesday or early Wednesday. The incident occurred along Brown Street, police said.
Missiles onto road
MILL HALL — Two teens on the Route 44 overpass to Route 220 in Pine Creek Township tried to drop a bottle onto a moving vehicle Tuesday afternoon, state police at Lamar said.
Police said both teens were male, and one had short hair and the other, wearing a tan, knee length trenchcoat, had long black hair .
The victim was Jessica Sue Hunter, 30, of 19 Justin Lane, Mill Hall, police said.
Retail theft
MILL HALL — A white male in is middle to late 20s stole $286.64 in merchandise Tuesday from the Wal-Mart Super Center, 167 Hogan Boulevard, Bald Eagle Township, state police at Lamar said.
The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
LOCK HAVEN — Two tires on a parked pickup were slashed in an act of vandalism Monday in Burke Alley, city police said.
Damage was estimated at $200.
Retail theft
LOCK HAVEN — Mary Brush, 48, of Linden was cited for harassment and retail theft Tuesday, city police said.
According to police, Brush was stopped for shoplifting at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and knocked an employee to the floor trying to get out of the business.
License stolen
AVIS — Jack Lohman, 45, of Avis, told state police at Lamar that an unknown individual stole the license plate off his vehicle as it was parked along East Ridge Street sometime before Sunday.
Accident
LOCK HAVEN — A two-vehicle crash occurred Friday at 4:30 p.m. at East Main and Hanna streets, city police said.
James Rogers of Cogan Station was driving his Chevy Lumina east on Main Street, city police said, when he failed to see a red light until the last moment.
The Rogers auto struck a car in the intersection, driven south on Hanna Street by Paul Clark Jr., 525 Fox Hollow, MIll Hall.
Both vehicles sustained light damage.
Accident
LOCK HAVEN — An accident occurred on South Hanna Street Saturday at 4:32 p.m., city police said.
Krystle Allen, 205 Dewey St., Mill Hall, was seen pulling from a parking place and striking a parked vehicle owned by Danielle Smith, 74 Schoolhouse Road, Port Jervis, N.Y. Allen was later cited for failure to maintain auto insurance and driving during suspension, police said.
Disorderly conduct
LOCK HAVEN — Michael J. Smeraglio, 19, of Newton and Tay R. Waltenbaugh, 21, of New Stanton, were cited for disorderly conduct after a April 25 fist fight at Evergreen Commons, 340 Foundation Drive, city police said.
Burglary
RENOVO — Two camps were broken into along the Summerson Mountain Road in Chapman Township between April 27 and Wednesday, state police at Lamar said.
Vandalism
LOCK HAVEN — Two local businesses had their front windows broken overnight Friday in acts of vandalism, city police said.
The businesses were Bitner’s Properties, 37 Bellefonte Ave., and the vacuum store, 757 Bellefonte Ave., police said.
Purse stolen
LOCK HAVEN, — A purse containing camera, keys, cell phone and other items was stolen sometime before 2:30 a.m. Friday at the Fallon Hotel, 131 E. Water St., city police said.
Disorderly conduct
LOCK HAVEN — James P. Antonelli, 19, of 5 W. Main St., was cited for disorderly conduct Saturday at 11 p.m., after allowing excessive noise to disturb the neighborhood, city police said.
Sign stolen
LOCK HAVEN — A “restricted parking” sign in front of the regional office of State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Lock Haven, 29 Bellefonte Ave., was stolen sometime Friday, city police said.
