Born in Booneville on Jan. 29, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Home and Edna Mae Hartman Karstetter.
Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Lester Goodman, and her second husband, Kenneth Armstrong Probst, and three children, Allen and Dennis Probst and a daughter, Karen J. Kulak.
She attended Sugar Valley schools and worked at the Carey McFalls in Montoursville, also Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven, and at the Woolworth’s Five and Dime Store in Lock Haven.
Mrs. Probst was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Her hobbies were selling Avon, crocheting, taking walks and solving The Express cryptoquote.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle and Mabel, and three brothers, Richard and twins Clarence and Torrence.
Survivors include three sons, Jack and his wife, Janice Goodman of Williamsport, Daryl G. and his wife, Becky Probst of Lock Haven; and Gary K. and his wife Linda Probst of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren, Keith, Todd, Joshua, Zack, Chris, Elizabeth and Matt.
Funeral services for Anna M. Probst will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, with lay minister William Felmlee of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Booneville Evangelical Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials will be accepted to the First Baptist Church through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home.
