Youngster killed in farming accident

SPRING MILLS — A 6-year-old boy was killed in a farming accident on an Amish farm Tuesday afternoon, state police at Rockview said.

Jacob F. Stoltzfus, of Spring Mills, died of massive head trauma, according to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers, who said the death was accidental and immediate.

Police said Stoltzfus was helping his father wrap bales of hay when his head became caught in the machinery that compacts the hay.

The accident occurred about 4:20 p.m. on a farm at 204 Big Oak Lane, police said.

Counterfeit $10 bill

STATE COLLEGE — A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at a postal facility in State College Monday, according to borough police.

Police are investigating the incident.

Marijuana found

MILL HALL — Suspected marijuana plants were found at a private residence at 302 S. Chestnut St. Tuesday at 9:45 p.m., state police at Lamar said.

Police said troopers arrived at that address for a report of an unresponsive male, and discovered the plants inside the building.

Charges are pending.

Missing person

DUNNSTOWN — Brandon Lee Kissell, 29, of 57 Dogwood Drive, Lock Haven, was reported missing from his home at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, state police at Lamar said.

Police said Kissell was last seen driving away from his home in a white 2006 Toyota Scion XB four-door station wagon.

Kissell is described as five feet, seven inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police, 726-6000.

Reckless endangering

LOGANTON — A report that a gunshot fired along the Sportsman Road in Greene Township Monday at 3:35 a.m., endangering a resident of that area, is being investigated by state police at Lamar.

Police listed the victim as Scott Leonard Snook, 29, of Loganton. Troopers offered no details other than to say the investigation is continuing.


HOWARD — A one-vehicle crash occurred at the 500 block of Walnut Street Tuesday at 2:59 p.m., state police at Rockview said.

Police said Wanda L. Fitzgerald, 40, of Alexandria, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Fitzgerald was driving north on Route 26 into Howard, police said, when she lost control of her 2006 Ford Ranger. The SUV crossed the road and crashed into a stone wall and wooden fence before coming to rest along the west berm, police said.
