LOCK HAVEN - Sunday night's floating stage concert with classic-rockers Hybrid Ice will also feature another special guest - Joe Snedeker.
WNEP TV producer Bill Schultz said the morning meterologist should arrive in Lock Haven sometime between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. Sunday, just in time to catch the end of Hybrid Ice's concert, after biking 28 miles from Renovo.
"We hadn't planned on this, but we heard there was a great concert that night and we thought it would be a great opportunity for Joe.
"He's going to ride onto the stage and the mayor (Rick Vilello) is going to meet him and introduce him. Then, he will get off the stage and the concert will continue," Schultz said.
Both Schultz and City Planner Leonora Hannagan said all donations collected during the concert will go to the St. Joseph's Center in Scranton.
This is the 11th year that Snedeker has bicycled to raise funds for St. Joseph's. This year's "Go Joe" gets started in Renovo, at 6 p.m. Sunday with a live broadcast from Memorial Park. Then Snedeker will ride to Lock Haven with his first appearance on the floating stage and a second Monday morning from 5 to 7 a.m. as he broadcasts the weather live from the Corman Amphitheatre.
In case of rain, the concert will move to Lock Haven University's Price Performance Center.
Schultz said Snedeker's entourage includes a 30-foot RV, a chase vehicle, a scout vehicle to prepare the next town he will stop at and a satellite truck.
