John M. Paul

John M. Paul, 84, of Hyner, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born Jan. 24, 1924 in Farwell, he was a son of the late Preston and Catherine Wolfe Paul.

He served as a Pfc. in the 765th Bombardment Squadron 461st Bombardment Group.

He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with eight Bronze Stars.

Mr. Paul worked at Piper Aircraft, Berwick Forge and the P.R.R.

He was a member of American Legion Post #442, Renovo.

He is survived by a daughter, Sherry (William) Probst of North Bend; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Blair (Peck), Elwood (Teen) and Clyde Paul, and two sisters, Evelyn McKeague and Charlotte Caffas.

Memorial services are being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, PA 17751.
