Two charged in credit card theft

POSTED: August 7, 2008

AVIS - Two people were arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing a credit card last month and using it at various local businesses.

Matthew J. Nihart, 24, and Olivia Ann Feidler, 21, both of Waterville, have been charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery, access device fraud, receiving stolen property and theft, according to Pine Creek Township Police Chief David Winkleman.

Winkleman said Nihart was charged with six counts, including a felony count of criminal conspiracy. Feidler faces 11 counts, including felonies of criminal conspiracy and access device fraud, Winkleman said.

The two were arraigned at the central booking station at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.

Nihart was working at Lock Haven Distribution when he stole a wallet containing two credit cards on July 22, Winkleman said.

Nihart used one of the credit cards at the Avis Minit Mart and gave the other to Feidler, who used it at the Avis Minit Mart, Sheetz and Quik Fill in Mill Hall, Winkleman said. Feidler also attempted to use the card at Kmart, Winkleman said.

Winkleman said the arrests followed a joint investigation by his department, Lock Haven city police and state police.
