The Express highlights people, groups and activities worthy of applause, each Saturday morning.
I would like to THANK many people for their help at the Clinton County Fair. Though I did not win the fair queen contest, I still had a great time and I would like to thank those on the Fair Board, Queen Committee, judges and fellow contestants. I also would like to thank my family and friends for being there to support me through all of my events and helping to keep me calm through the hectic week. Also, I would like to thank Grant Miller with Grant's Classic Cars and Scott Knisely with KW Gas and Oil for buying my 2008 market hogs at the 4H auction. Thank you to all those who helped not only me but many others at the 36th Annual Clinton County Fair.

APPLAUSE to Lock Haven Mayor Rick Vilello and Lock Haven City Council for the proclamation to the Mooseheart Kids during the last Council meeting. Another big thanks to Councilman Steve Stevenson, who graciously made the arrangements. Also applause to the Piper Museum, Fox's Restaurant, The Best Western Hotel and Marconi's Garage who repaired the company van. Applause to The Express for its excellent coverage. There are many others who deserve applause that I am not aware of. The biggest applause goes to our brothers and co-workers who hard work makes these special events possible. Soon, we will enter our second century of service and are looking forward to more community activities such as these. Again, thanks to all.

I would like to THANK all of the dedicated Dickey Elementary PTO members who volunteered their time for meetings over the summer. The PTO met the second Monday of every month and summer meetings are not typical. However, due to the wonderful dedication to the children of Dickey Elementary, volunteers meet so we could have a strong beginning for the new school year. Thank you to all who volunteer and for all that you do.
