Gene F. Lefever, 79, formerly of DuBois and most recently of Renovo, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at Bucktail Medical Center, Renovo.
He was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Jefferson Center to the late Howard L. and Amelia (Fruth) Lefever.
He married Charlotte (Silvis) Lefever on May 2, 1953 in Westfield. She survives. He was Protestant by faith.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class in the 142nd Armed Signal Co. He had retired from Consolidated Gas.
He was a member of Kettle Creek Tamarack Sportsman Club and the Potter County Anglers.
He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Dennis Lefever and his wife Jamie of New Bethlehem and Bill Lefever and Pam of DuBois; a daughter, Debora Fulkerson and Bud Short of DuBois; five grandchildren, Nicky, Dirck, Jeremy, Micaela and Channing; a great-grandson, Braedon; a brother, Howard Lefever of Erie; and a sister, Marion Patterson of Florida.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral chapel with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
