Helen E. (Logue) McGarvey, 88, a former resident of North Bend, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008 at Rose View Center.
She was born July 16, 1920 in Ralston, a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Grenell) Logue.
Helen was married to Raymond E. McGarvey, who died in 1971.
She was the former owner of Logue Flowers in Renovo.
She was a member of North Bend United Methodist Church, where she was past treasurer and was a lifelong member of the choir.
Helen volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Co. She was a volunteer for the Renovo Midget Athletic Association for over 50 years.
She served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are two sons, William (Linda) McGarvey of Williamsport and David (Kelly) McGarvey of Cogan Station; five grandchildren, Travis, Jodi, Lori, Liam and Chloe; and five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Tyler, Owen, Andrew and Zachary.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at North Bend United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Pickering officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to North Bend United Methodist Church.
Interment will be at North Bend Cemetery.
Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, has charge of arrangements.
