Woman, 21, found
shot to death
PHILIPSBURG - Racheal L. Perryman, 21, no address listed, was found dead of a gunshot wound Saturday evening, according to Centre County Coroner Scott A. Sayers.
An autopsy revealed that Perryman died as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest, Sayers said.
Details of the incident are sketchy; state police are investigating.
A police reported simply listed the incident as a shooting death.
The shooting occurred in a rural, wooded area off the Governor's Road in Union Township, Sayers said. Sayers pronounced Perryman dead at the scene.
Hit-run alleged on
Hyner Run Road
HYNER - A two-vehicle, hit-and-run crash occurred on Hyner Run Road in Chapman Township at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, state police at Lamar said.
Police said Paul A. Gentzyel, 55, of North Bend, was driving south on the road, and a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix was legally parked along the west side, when Gentzyel fell asleep at the wheel of his Toyota Tacoma.
The Tacoma struck the Grand Prix, pushing it over a wooden fence.
Police said Gentzyel fled the scene, but the owner of the Grand Prix was able to obtain a partial license plate and description of the Tacoma.
Police investigated and found a tire on the road, and indications the truck continued on until the tire came off the rim. Officers followed the tracks to the operator's residence, and found the Tacoma with damage consistent with crash and plastic fragments picked up at the scene.
Gentzyel was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Man charged with
theft, drug possession
MILL HALL - Brian Jeffrey Verne, 29, of 225 E. Keller St., Castanea, was charged with retail theft Friday afternoon at the Wal-Mart Super Center, 167 Hogan Blvd., Bald Eagle Township, state police at Lamar said.
Police said Verne was seen removing packaging from a rifle scope and placing the scope in his coat. Members of the store's loss prevention team stopped him when he tried to leave the store and found he was also in possession of a pair of stolen binoculars, police said. The merchandise was valued at $259.
When Verne arrived at the police station, he was found to have a small amount of marijuana and several packets of heroin in his possession.
Fingerprinting also confirmed that he had two active warrants. Charges were field and he was placed in the Clinton County Correctional Facility, police said.
MILL HALL - Chandra Gee, 40, of Mill Hall, attempted to argue and fight with a witness after crashing her vehicle into a light pole Saturday evening at 118 N. Chestnut St., state police at Lamar said.
Police said Gee was driving in the area when the mirror of her car struck the pole, which was located in a front yard.
Gee argued with the victim, a 37-year-old female police declined to identify, and then threatened to harm her and attempted to strike her. Gee left the scene before police arrived. Summary harassment charges will be filed against her at district court, police said.
Crash on Route 150
BELLEFONTE -A two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 150 in Boggs Township Friday at 8:59 p.m., state police at Lamar said.
Police said Todd R. Herckert, 43, of Mill Hall, was driving his 2000 Dodge Stratus north on Route 150, when Kalidas R. Patel, 62, of Milford, turned his Lexus X 330 in front of the Herckert auto.
Both operators were uninjured and both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
Accident on I-80
LOGANTON - Stephanie Miklosey, 55, of Philadelphia, crashed her auto on Interstate 80 in Greene Township Saturday at 10:21 a.m., state police at Lamar said.
Police said Miklosey lost control of her 2007 Honda Civic and the auto traveled off the road and crashed into an embankment.
Miklosey suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
HOWARD - A rubber ball was stuck in a gas tank of a car owned by Konnie M. Hosterman, 41, of Howard, state police at Rockview said.
The ball became lodged in the neck of the tank of the 2003 Oldsmobile Alero, police said. The vandalism occurred between Monday and Thursday, police said.
HOWARD - Eddie Dean Moyer, 31, of Howard, was charged with harassment Friday morning at 127 Bur Oak Lane in Marion Township, state police at Rockview said.
Police said Moyer engaged in a domestic argument with family members and allegedly kicked one of them.
NORTH BEND - A burglary occurred last week at the North Bend Motel, 233 Main St., Chapman Township, state police at Lamar said.
Police said approximately $90 in cash was stolen.
Drunk driving alleged
LOCK HAVEN - Floyd Bowmaster Jr., 21, of 517 Prospect St., Lock Haven, was charged with driving while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, driving under suspension and multiple traffic offenses this weekend, city police said.
Police said Bowmaster was driving in the area of Main Street when he went through a red light. When police attempted to stop him, he fled at speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour until he was finally stopped. Police said he continued to shout obscenities after being told to stop his behavior at the Lock Haven Hospital.
LOCK HAVEN - Alexis VanBuren, 37, of Bellefonte was cited for retail theft Saturday at the Family Dollar, 300 Bellefonte Ave., city police said.
Police said she attempted to steal a purse, bracelet and three shirts.
Three people cited
LOCK HAVEN - Three individuals were cited Monday for simple assault or disorderly conduct following a June 26 fist fight at 133 Fifth St., city police said.
The citations were issued to Geofrey R. Kerkowski, 20, of Everdale, Joshua Rickert, 23, of 11 Sixth St., and Nathan Jarrells, 20, of 327 W. Main St., police said.
LOCK HAVEN - The windows, hood and doors of a 2005 Subaru Outback were damaged by vandalism Friday, city police said. Police said the vehicle was parked on East Water Street when it sustained $2,500 damage.
LOCK HAVEN - The passennger side mirror of a vehicle was broken Friday while the auto was parked along South Fairview Street, city police said.
