MILL HALL - Representatives from Croda Inc. recently hosted U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard, for a visit and tour at the company's Mill Hall manufacturing operations.
The visit, which was coordinated by the American Chemistry Council, was an opportunity for Thompson to learn about the local facility and meet with employees.
Croda representatives provided an overview of the company's local operations and a history of the products made by Croda. The Mill Hall facility employs about 130 people and is one of only two Croda manufacturing operations in the United States, the other facility being located in New Castle, Del.
The discussion also focused on investments made over the past few years in the local plant and Croda's commitment to the community.
"We're grateful for the chance to meet with Congressman Thompson," said Croda Inc. Vice President of Operations Dave Johnson. "We talked with him about issues that are key to sustaining the long-term viability of our operations, including the need for an energy policy that's competitive globally, the importance of free trade of goods and the competitive transport of raw materials within the country, and regulatory reform measures that impact Croda's business."
"It is of great interest to me to find out the issues that affect local manufacturing and commerce," said Thompson. "I was impressed with the tour of Croda and all of the people involved. This is an outstanding facility and it offers solid jobs in the district."
