Tuesday, April 13
Nature for Toddlers
10 to 11:30 a.m.
Don't let your young child miss out on nature. Bring them out to this interactive program designed for children ages 3-5. Activities will include a variety of basic crafts, stories, short walks and nature games, which could take place inside or outside. Dress for the weather. This is the last of a three-month winter series just for young toddlers. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center.

Bird Walk
8:30 to 10 a.m.
Wake up to experience an unpredictable morning of bird watching. Become acquainted with the winged migrants that pass through Bald Eagle State Park. These walks are for novices and experts alike. Each week, we will explore local hotspots to see what birds are passing through or have returned for the summer. Meet at the park office.
Wednesday, April 21
Woodcock Trot
7 to 8:15 p.m.
Don't miss out on this seasonal event. Woodcocks are dancing, singing and breeding. You will explore this bird's unique habits during a brief classroom presentation followed by an actual walk where we will attempt to watch this bird performing its courtship dance. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center.

Park Clean-up Day
10 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
Get your hands dirty and keep the park beautiful. This is a great opportunity for groups and individuals to earn community service hours while contributing to the maintenance of outdoor facilities at the park. Participants must be at least 15-years-old or accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center.

Saturday, April 17
Eagle Watch Program
11 a.m.
Eagle watchers have reported the first sign of feeding activity at the nest. This is the first indication that at least one egg has hatched, as the chicks are too small to be seen over the rim of the nest when newly hatched.
This is the earliest hatching date since the eagles began nesting here in 2005.
Come to the observation area to view the eagles. Topics will include identification, nesting behavior and basic biology. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be available, or you may bring your own.

Pennsylvania Songbirds Curriculum Workshop
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This workshop is for educators teaching at grade levels K-12, from the IU 17 (BLAST), IU 9 (Seneca Highlands), IU 10 (Central), IU 16 (Central Susquehanna) geographical areas. The goal of Pennsylvania Songbirds is to facilitate and promote awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of natural resources through the development and dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids. Registrants should come prepared for being in the outdoors, rain or shine. Morning coffee will be provided. Participants should bring a bag lunch. Registration will be limited to 8 to 15 participants.
If the minimum number of eight is not attained, the workshop will be cancelled.
Participants who complete the workshop will receive the Pennsylvania Songbirds activity guide for K-12, and other related materials. You will also be credited with six hours of training for Act 48. This workshop is sponsored by the PA Bureau of State Parks. There is no fee for this workshop, but pre-registration is required, and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call the park office to register.
Sinnemahoning
AUSTIN - Come to Sinnemahoning State Park and enjoy the following activities. The park is surrounded by Elk State Forest and is located in Austin, Cameron County. For more information on the following events, contact park naturalist Jackie Flynn or Janet Colwell at (814) 647-8401.

Timberdoodle Trot
6 to 7:30 p.m.
The american woodcock is an unusual bird with unique adaptations to its habitat and lifestyle - a shorebird species that is also a game bird. Join Sinnemahoning's park naturalist for an evening adventure into the twilight world of the timberdoodle. Meet at the Wildlife Viewing Area. Dress for the weather - boots and jackets are recommended. Call the park office for more information.
R.B. Winter
MIFFLINBURG - The following activities will take place at R.B. Winter State Park. For more information, call Environmental Education Specialist MaryAnn Bierly at (570) 966-1455. Most programs are free unless an equipment rental fee is specified.

Black Moshannon
