Clarence E. Roadarmel

Clarence E. Roadarmel, 81, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at Centre Crest Nursing Home.

Born on Feb. 21, 1929 in Danville, he was the son of the late Truman Roadarmel and Verna Wellar Roadarmel, and step-mother Emma Roadarmel.

On Sept. 30, 1950 in Winchester, Va., he married Thelma M. Irvin, who survives at home.

He was a 1947 graduate of the Danville High School.

Clarence worked in the Glass Manufacturing Department at Corning.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Edward Roadarmel and his wife Kathryn of Jersey Shore; his brother, Earl Roadarmel of Trevorton; two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Engel and her husband Jeff, and Luke Edward and his wife Corrie; and two great grandchildren, Isabelle Engel and Hunter Engel.

He was a member of the Pleasant Gap Lutheran Church, Bellefonte V.F.W. Post No. 1600, a life member of Pleasant Gap Fire Co., Union County Sportsman's Club and a 54-year member of Pleasant Gap Legion.

Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Truman Roadarmel; half brother, Truman Roadarmel; and half sister, Eleanor Hunter.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Gap Lutheran Cemetery with Revs. Kevin Shock and Ken Litwiller officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice at 1015 Logan Blvd, Altoona, Pa. 16602.
