BELLEFONTE - The train is coming, the train is coming.
This year the Santa Express train will return to Bellefonte. The 1940's restored train is great for the Santa Express. It looks much like the train in the Polar Express.
The rides are approximately one hour long. During the ride, C. Van Allburg's "Polar Express" is read. And it has been told that Santa makes an appearance during the ride.
And the lovely setting of historic Bellefonte makes the train ride even more magical for everyone.
The train was scheduled last year but had to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Those problems have been worked out and once again the Santa Express will pull into the Bellefonte Train Station on Saturday, Dec. 18 and remain until Sunday, Dec. 19.
On Saturday there will be five train rides and on Sunday there will be three rides. The train rides on Saturday are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The rides on Sunday are 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Boarding begins approximately 30 minutes before departure time.
It is best to purchase your tickets in advance, as they usually sell out before the event. Price of tickets is $10 each for both adult and children. Children 2 and under sitting on a lap are free, however, they must have a free lap ticket.
Tickets are available at the Bellefonte Train Station, Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or on line at Bellefontetrain.org by using paypal.
