HARRISBURG - State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Lock Haven, announced Tuesday the state Department of Environmental Protection has awarded a $7,500 grant to a Lock Haven business for an energy conservation project.

Hanna said Rapmitco Properties, a land subdivision company, will use the grant funds to purchase and install heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades to conserve energy.

"Innovative small businesses like Rapmitco Properties have realized that investing in projects that reduce pollution and energy use produce immediate and long-term positive results," Hanna said. "I commend them on making investments in the future of the business, as well as the economic and environmental future of Pennsylvania."

This grant is awarded under the state Small Business Advantage Grant Program, which provides small businesses (those with fewer than 100 employees) with 50 percent matching reimbursement grants of up to $7,500 to implement projects that will save at least 20 percent annually in pollution prevention or energy-related costs.
