Howard and Phyllis (Schenck) Furl of Windham recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Jan. 19, 1951 in Bellefonte.
Their children are Ken and Cindy Furl of Howland, Debbie Pfliederer of Rootstown and Patty and Lynn Herdlick of North Canton. They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Howard is retired from Harbison Walker Refractories and Windham Township. Phyllis is retired from work at Windham schools where she was a cook.

Both are members of the Windham Bible Church. Howard is very active in the American Legion Honor Guard and belongs to the Masons.
Phyllis is a member of the Red Hat Society and loves to cook. She enjoys attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events and says the children are the joy of her life.
They like to spend time at their son's family cabin in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania near their childhood home.
Howard and Phyllis were guests of honor at a party hosted by their children at Roby Lee's in Newton Falls. Those attending included some special guests - Phyllis' sister June Young of Windham and her son Skip Young of Newton Falls, and Howard's brother Guy (and Sandra) Furl of Warren.
