Mackeyville invited to corn boil
MACKEYVILLE - An evening of reaching out to current and former Mackeyville area residents is planned tomorrow.
Mackeyville United Methodist Church will provide a free corn boil and hot dog roast to enjoy, along with games, live music, prizes, fun and fellowship around the fire ring roasting marshmallows.
Everyone is invited to bring a chair and join in the time of catching up with old friends and making new ones.
The fun starts at 5 p.m. and will be held at the church pavilion, rain or shine.
'Cafe Trinity' is open Sunday
JERSEY SHORE - The "Second Sunday Supper" at Trinity Episcopal Church will feature fiesta chicken this month. The free meal will be served tomorrow at noon to anyone and everyone in the community who would like to dine out on Sunday.
Trinity Episcopal also is looking forward to its family picnic on Aug. 21, beginning with a service at 10 a.m. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to sign up ahead of time.
Reserve now for Sight & Sound
LOCK HAVEN - East Main United Methodist Church is sponsoring a trip to see "Joseph" at Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster, and the public is invited.
The trip on Saturday, Oct. 1 will be for one of the final performances of the show. The bus will leave the church at 9 a.m. and return about 8 p.m. The price includes a seat on a luxury tour bus, show ticket and dinner at Old Country Buffet in Lancaster.

St. Mark to worship at pavilion
SNYDERTOWN - St. Mark Lutheran Church will hold worship outdoors tomorrow and again on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m. under the picnic pavilion, weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair.
The Aug. 28 service will include the "Blessing of the Backpacks," and children youth and adults are invited to bring their backpacks, laptops, PDAs, work boots or other tools of the trade. God's blessing will be asked for the start of the new academic year.
Covenant UMW to hear program

Avis offers service of healing
AVIS - The Sunday, Aug. 21 worship at Avis United Methodist Church will be a service of healing and anointing with oil. Cancer survivors will lead the entire service, and Ron Rager will perform musical selections.
Trinity plans outdoor worship
JERSEY SHORE - Trinity United Methodist Church will gather at the Witthoff place for an outdoor service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Bring a lawn chair and a dish to share.

Blessing of Animals
WOOLRICH - Woolrich Community United Methodist Church offers a Blessing of the Animals for all pet owners. Bring pet dogs, cats, birds and reptiles to the church parking lot for the event Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
Should it rain, the Blessing of the Animals will be held inside the recreation center.
