So our team will take to the field at the Little League Baseball World Series during opening ceremonies Thursday, marking a fun and unique chapter in Clinton County baseball.
The first game is now set for 8 p.m. Friday at Lamade Stadium.
Little League Baseball officials, expecting a large crowd from Clinton County, moved the game to 8 p.m. and to Lamade from an original 5 p.m. start in Volunteer Stadium.
Good move.
We don't think Clinton Countians will argue.
For the next two weeks, the eyes of the world will be partially focused on Keystone Little League and, as they've said on ESPN, "Clinton County, Pa."
We all need to relish, to value these moments and keep the experience and memories fresh.
Keystone Little League is one of the best 16 Major Division teams in the world.
Sorry, we need to say that again ...
Keystone Little League is one of the BEST 16 Major Division teams in the world.
The players' behaviors on and off the field have been outstanding ... inspiring.
The lessons the coaches are teaching these kids is reflected in their polite, respectful manner.
They came to play their best - and to be their 11-and-12-year-old best - and they have.
It's truly amazing and, based on what we're reading and seeing, Clinton Countians can't get enough of it.
Stay up to date with your community newspaper.
We pledge to bring you the BEST coverage of this local team - just as we have done since the kids took to the field even before the Pennsylvania State Finals in State College.
We pride ourselves on Little League - baseball and softball coverage during the summer months.
We hope Keystone considers our staff - Tom Fox, Kim Moerschbacher and Nate Wilson - part of their family.
We appreciate that the coaches and parents have been so wonderful to Tom, Kim and Nate.
Good luck, Keystone.
You're already champions in our hearts.
