The expansion of facilities at Mount Nittany continues to have a big impact on the Human Resources Department, according to Gallaher.

Mount Nittany has two building projects underway: the expansion of the emergency department and construction of a new cancer center.

"It is part of our job to acclimate people to change. Even good change is difficult," she said.

Gallaher's responsibilities will continue to include recruitment efforts, and assisting managers to interpret labor agreements, as well as guiding their effective use of resources. A new focus will be on management of the day-to-day operations at the off-site, 366 Walker Road location.

Dovetailing with recruitment efforts will be a website upgrade which will provide more information and access to human resource processes, she said.

An ongoing priority for Gallaher will be the recruitment of nurses to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

"We say to prospective employees, 'Bring your passion for care,' because we give nurses what they need to give good care."
