Ernest L. and Mary Jane (Ferguson) Kerstetter celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on August 21, 2011.
They were married on that date in 1971 by the Rev. Gibbs Morton in the former First Lutheran Church on Water Street, Lock Haven.
Mary Jane retired from teaching in Keystone Central School District in 1995. She enjoys playing piano, flower arranging, antiques and her grandchildren.

Ernest works as a property inspector. He enjoys cooking, gardening, antiques and his grandchildren.
The couple was honored with a surprise dinner party at their home, with the meal catered by Chef Hosch and Ann Catering of Williamsport.
They are the parents of three daughters, Holly (David) Muthler, Michelle (Todd) Peters and Rebecca (Steven Sr.) Fernburg. They have seven grandchildren, Evan Muthler, Hannah Muthler, Darren Muthler, Steven Fernburg Jr., Trevor Fernburg, Drew Peters and Ross Peters.
