DALLASTOWN-William Probert, chairman of the Dallastown Area Middle School's Guidance Department, has been selected as the PSCA Middle School Counselor of the Year.
Mr. Probert oversees a comprehensive guidance program in a 7th and 8th grade setting and coordinates meetings with the K-12 school counseling department, which serves approximately 6,000 students.
In addition, Mr. Probert has been instrumental in developing school supports for struggling students. He was integral in the development of the in-house alternative education, emotional support, cyber-school and neurologically impaired classrooms. His other duties include overseeing the middle school's summer career camp, serving on the Building Safety Committee, being Vice President of the Communities That Care organization, and has developed a free parent-education series.

Probert is the son of William and Linda Probert of Renovo. He is a 1990 graduate of Bucktail Area High School, a 1994 graduate of Lock Haven University, and earned his Master's in Secondary Guidance from Edinboro University in 1996. He currently resides in York with his wife Melinda and their two children, Abbey and Alex.
