Fleeing police
BELLEFONTE - Michael King, of Julian, was arrested Wednesday for fleeing and eluding police, driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangering of another person, careless driving, reckless driving and summary traffic offenses. Police said an officer tried to stop King's Chevrolet pickup truck for driving the wrong way on Cherry Lane. While the officer was approaching the truck on foot, police said, the vehicle pulled away. Two other Bellefonte police cruisers gave chase onto Pleasant Valley Boulevard and the pursuit ended when the officers blocked the truck in at West high and Allegheny streets. As officers approached the vehicle to take the operator into custody, he was sitting in the driver's seat "chugging" a can of beer, police said.
Hotel Manor 'compliant'
SLATE RUN - The Hotel Manor was checked for age compliance recently, the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said. The check was made using supervised underage buyers, and the establishment was found to be compliant with the law.
Truck vandalized
LOCK HAVEN - A 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck parked in the East Main Street municipal parking lot was vandalized sometime Thursday, city police said. Police said somebody used a sharp object to gouge the paint surface of the vehicle.
Hit and run
LOCK HAVEN -If you own an eight-gigabite iPod Touch inscribed with the words, "Nicole Scott ... Music is Life!" city police would like a word with you. The music player was dropped at the scene of an accident Thursday at 7:18 p.m. at Bellefonte Avenue and South Highland Street, police said.Witnesses told police they saw a dark blue sedan, possibly a Dodge Neon, hit a stop sign in that area. The driver, a black male, got out, looked at the damage and returned to the vehicle before fleeing south, police said.
Drunk driving alleged
LOCK HAVEN - Zackery C. Davis, 22, of Pleasant Gap, was arrested for driving while intoxicated Friday at 1:46 a.m., city police said. Davis was stopped for a traffic violation on the 400 block of West Church Street and was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
