LOCK HAVEN - The Express is moving.
Well, not really.
Your community newspaper's front office staff will move next door, into the former Arts Council building at 7 W. Main St., effective Monday, Feb. 27.
The move is taking place to allow for renovations to the front office over a period of six weeks or so.
This means that those readers and customers wanting to visit the newspaper office to place Classified line ads, pay their home delivery subscription, drop off a news release or any related business are asked to enter the new storefront next door starting Monday.
Contest entry forms brought in during office hours also will go next door.
For those submitting contest entries after hours, you can still use the mail drop slop next to the front door at 11 W. Main St., right beside the yellow newspaper vending machine.
Retail advertising clients needing to access our Advertising Office may do so using The Express side door next to the Post Office. If there are any issues, customers can call the newspaper at 570-748-6791, or 1-800-941-3231.
The newspaper is very excited to invest in renovations.
"This is our 130th year in continuous operation as The Express. We were founded on March 1, 1882," said Robert O. Rolley, Jr., Express publisher. "With these renovations, we will give our front office a whole new look."
"During the renovations, we ask for patience from our readers and customers. The front door to The Express building will not be accessible but we're fortunate to be able to offer access right next door on Main Street, and through our side entrance in the alley next to the Post Office."
The Express is employing all local contractors for the work and is planning a 130th anniversary celebration for late August.
