John H. Way

February 23, 2012
The Express

John H. Way, 68, of Flemington, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late John H. and Kathryn (Donaghy) Way.

Surviving are his wife of over 40 years, Roberta, a daughter Mary, and a sister-in-law Nancy Seibert.

As a professional geologist, John shared his love of the natural world with others. Through his work at the Pennsylvania Geologic Survey in Harrisburg, and his teaching of geology for 20 years - the majority of them at Lock Haven University- or his participation and/or development of many local and state educational opportunities and field trips, John inspired many to explore and preserve their environment.

As a supporter and member of local organizations, John requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ross Library, Keystone Community Network, Lock Haven University Foundation Geology Progress Fund, Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy, Millbrook Playhouse, or to a charity or cause of the donor's choice through the Yost Gedon Funeral Home at 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

At John's request, no formal service will be held.

Online condolences and memories can be made at www.yost-gedonfuneralhome.com
