JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Area School Board is to meet in special session tonight to consider changing an elementary school construction project.
Richard Emery, superintendent, advised the board earlier this month that the district will not see about $580,000 in state reimbursement on the project to renovate and expand the Jersey Shore Elementary School because the board that night decided not to close a school.
When asked if the board will take the expansion aspect out of the project, Emery said it would be discussed but added, "That's what I'm assuming."
Emery said the district would have received more state reimbursement to offset costs for the project if a school was closed, but now will look to alter the project as that funding is no longer available.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the district service center.
