LOCK HAVEN - Lynne Ramm, owner of Lynear Designs, Island Road, Lock Haven, was a recent guest speaker for the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven.
She gave the group a brief demonstration of her art, which creates works of beauty with ordinary rocks, and spoke about the many steps in the process of rock-carving.
"People often bring me rocks that may have special meaning or that are from a special place. They want them carved with messages or names. I can't use slate, but most other rocks can be carved," she said. "I can supply the rocks, too."
Ramm also makes and sells birdhouses as well as masks for Mardi Gras or Halloween, all created from dried and carved gourds.
She told the group about the upcoming Cardboard Boat Races, a project she has spearheaded since its start several years ago. This year's race day on the river is July 14.
