The Express highlights people, groups and activities worthy of applause, each Saturday morning.

The Central Mountain Band Boosters would like to THANK the Sons of Italy in Lock Haven for holding a spaghetti dinner fundraising event to help support our organization. The Central Mountain Band Boosters is a nonprofit organization that supports both the Central Mountain High School and Central Mountain Middle School indoor majorette, color guard and dance teams. The Sons of Italy provided everything for this spaghetti dinner at no cost to us. For the club's hard work and dedication to helping local nonprofit organizations, we are greatly appreciative. Thank you.

Also, the Central Mountain Band Boosters would like to thank the following area merchants for their donations to our area business raffle: Music One, Haywood's on the Green, West Coast Video, Weis Markets in Lock Haven and Mill Hall, Stephanie Walizer Photography, Pizza King, Ingram's Market, Heavenly Touch, Arby's, Checkers, Cutting It Close, Unkel Joes, Country Heart, WSQV, Lucky Seven, Susquehanna Trailways, Keith Electronics, Weaver Electric, Subway/Lock Haven, M&T Bank, The Woolrich Store, Snippers, Tina's Tees, Country Cuts, Domino's Pizza and Kathie Grove.

The Bellefonte Elks Lodge No. 1094 St. Patrick's Day Committee wishes to THANK all who attended the St. Patrick's Day event at the club. Special thanks to AC Express for providing musical entertainment for the crowd's listening pleasure. Over 100 patrons attended this event. Additionally, PER Dick Mulfinger, his kitchen crew and servers deserve a round of applause for an outstanding dining extravaganza. Well done, folks.

THANKS to Brenda and all her staff at the Blue Chimney Restaurant for 11 years of good food at fair prices. The staff was always courteous and friendly. The building was always clean and decorated to the season. I'll sure miss your coffee! Best of luck to you all.

THANK YOU, George Crouse, for your time and concern to remember a good friend, James William Mayes. It is very special to read about one of your classmates and the impact he had on a fellow serviceman. We certainly appreciate the recognition you provided and the consideration of the Lock Haven Express for including the information in their publication on March 19. Yes, we are very proud of James William Mayes and he gave his life for our nation.

On Sunday, March 4, the Liberty-Curtin PTO hosted a Vera Bradley Bingo at the Red Eye Center in Flemington.
