Student musicians from Jersey Shore Middle School with Robert Sheldon, composer of “ Beyond the Riverbend, ”commissioned and premiered by the Lycoming County Junior Honors Band on March 3, 2012.
Bands from Jersey Shore Middle School, Jersey Shore High School, and guest band Berwick High School participated in the 2012 Tournament Jazz Festival. Each band performed two to four selections and then had the opportunity to work with two educational clinicians for a 20 minute session. The two clinicians were Galen Leitzel, Supervisor of Music in Conestoga Valley Schools, and John Bugosh, (retired) Supervisor of Music in Cumberland Valley Schools.
