Matthew Houser, a 2009 graduate of Central Mountain High School, received the Evan Pugh Scholar Award - Junior at a ceremony at Penn State University on March 18.
Evan Pugh scholars are those University Park juniors and seniors who are in the upper 0.5 percent of their class at the end of the fall semester of the academic year the award is given.
The juniors for fall 2011 have cumulative grade-point averages of 3.99 and above.
