Graydon L. "Pete" DuPree Sr., 81, of 207 Prospect Ave. Avis , died Thursday evening, March 29, 2012, in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born June 2, 1930 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Robert S. DuPree Sr. and the former Amy Peeling.
"Pete" was preceded in death by his wife the former Colleen M. Bowmaster, who died Feb. 13, 2004. They were united in marriage April 10, 1954.

During the Korean War he served his country in the United States Army from Sept. 28, 1950 until he was honorably discharged Sept. 1, 1951.
Surviving are a son Graydon L. (Becky)"Pete" DuPree Jr. of New Oxford, Pa.; four daughters Darlene K. Kehoe of Avis, Amy J. (Jeffrey) Brooks of Avis, Jennifer A. (Scott) Gordner of Jersey Shore and Debbie M. (Michael) Herman of Avis; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one brother Richard K. (Sam) DuPree of Lock Haven.
A brother John K. (Jack) DuPree died March 30, 2012.
For 29 years he was employed by PennDOT.
He was a life member of the Hope Hose Co. in Lock Haven, Loyal Order of Moose in Lock Haven, the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge and the Beech Creek American Legion. He also was a member of the Central District Firemans Association and the LaBelle Vallee Lodge #232 F.&A.M., Jersey Shore.
Funeral services will be Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
Family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Avis Recreation Assn., P.O. Box 118, Avis, Pa. 17721, in care of Amy Brooks.
