John K. "Jack" DuPree, 84 of Avis, passed away March 30, 2012 at the Jersey Shore Hospital ICU.
He was born in Lock Haven Sept. 12, 1927 to the late Robert and Amy Peeling DuPree.
Jack was united in marriage to Frieda Long in August of 1952. She survives.

Mr. DuPree was a 1946 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and had gone on to the Williamsport Area Community College. Upon completing his schooling, he entered the service, serving in the Korean Conflict. After completing his tour of duty, he moved back to the Lock Haven area and worked at Piper Aircraft for 32 years, retiring in 1984 from the tool and die making department.
Jack had also owned and operated the DuPree's Sewing Machine Repair Service in Avis for many years and was a member of the Avis United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with his wife, Frieda, is a daughter, Cindy Kreitz of Winter Haven, Fla.; a son, J. Joseph DuPree of Newtown; a brother, Richard "Sam" DuPree of Wilkes-Barre; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Graydon "Pete" DuPree.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
