LOCK HAVEN - Local residents will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday to take part in the nationwide, progressive mobilization "99% Spring," to "take back the country for the 99 percent."
The activists will be trained in non-violent, direct action and will connect with others in the community to "take back Lock Haven for the 99 percent." The event is part of a week-long mobilization that will train activists and will build off actions from last year, including the protests in Wisconsin for worker rights, the actions outside the White House to stop the Keystone Pipeline, Occupy Wall Street, and Move Your Money.
"On Saturday, we will join with more than 100,000 others nationwide to stand-up for the 99 percent," said Tara Mitchell of Lock Haven, one of the event organizers. "It is only through a massive undertaking like this we can break the 1 percent domination on virtually every aspect of our society - from business to government. We will train the 99 percent to take the country back for the 100 percent."
